Energy and environmental performance: how to accelerate and simplify your transition

In response to climate change, numerous measures at the national and European levels are encouraging economic actors to accelerate their energy transition.

To do so, several levers are used to monitor and control your energy performance. It is in this field that Energisme specializes, accompanying you in your compliance obligations through an energy system platform: N'Gage. A real partner in your energy transition, you can direct the energy performance of your entire fleet in real time.

What are the advantages of the Energisme energy management system?

The energy management platform, N’Gage, relies on data to meet your energy and environmental challenges. Its collection, its reliability and its restitution in indicators that effectively meet your needs is a powerful lever for energy efficiency.

Build and manage your CSR – ESG approach?

Build and manage your ESG and CSR strategy by providing data in the form of specific tables (GRI, EPRA, GHG emissions, EPC, Tertiary Decree).

Introduction to the energy and environmental transition

What is the energy and environmental transition?

The energy transition is part of the fight against global warming and sustainable development strategies.

It brings together a set of measures that significantly impact energy production systems and their consumption.

Its objectives are notably :

Companies, communities and residents alike are mobilized to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.

the progressive replacement of fossil fuels by renewable energies
the reduction of energy consumption
and greenhouse gas emissions (GHG)

What is energy and environmental performance?

Energy performance represents the amount of energy consumed by a building. Its energy consumption will depend on the quality of the infrastructure, its energy equipment, external factors (weather conditions, occupancy) and its operation.

Monitoring the energy and environmental performance of a facility is crucial for organizations. By visualizing their current energy consumption, they are able to identify the actions to be taken to achieve the objectives set by the law on energy transition for green growth.

It is in this field that Energisme specializes, through an environmental management platform capable of monitoring in real time the consumption of an unlimited number of buildings.

They are all focused on reducing GHG emissions, encouraging renewable energies (RE) and reducing energy consumption.

What are the energy and environmental regulations?

The regulatory landscape includes numerous agreements and measures to support economic actors in their energy and environmental transition. They are all focused on reducing GHG emissions, encouraging renewable energies (RE) and reducing energy consumption.

Accord globaux

Global agreements

The Paris Agreement adopted in 2015 at the Paris Climate Conference (COP21) is the flagship of global cooperation towards addressing climate change. It brings together 190 signatory countries, including the European Union.

  • Among others, the countries have committed to limiting the rise in global temperatures so as not to reach the fateful figure of 2°C.

The agreement also implies the reduction of their carbon impact based on reliable data.

In developed countries such as France, this implies numerous measures on the territory by involving non-state actors (cities, regions, local authorities) in the fight against climate change.

réglementation européenne

European regulations

Other agreements at the European level aim to guarantee the energy transition of the Member States, to promote renewable energies, to guarantee the EU’s energy supply, but also to support the competitiveness of the European energy market.

In fact, a number of European directives intervene on several subjects, such as their impact on the electricity and gas markets in Europe, on the energy efficiency of the EU and of buildings.

Les obligations du Décret Tertiaire

Obligations of the Tertiary Decree

The Tertiary Decree concerns tertiary activity buildings greater than or equal to 1,000m2.

The objective is to reduce the energy consumption of tertiary sector buildings according to a precise schedule:

  • -40% in 2030
  • -30% in 2040
  • -60% in 2050

The owners, lessees and tenants concerned must make an annual declaration to ADEME, using the OPERAT platform. This transparency exercise obliges many organizations to comply through an action plan.

Obligations of the BACS Decree

The BACS (Building automation & control system) decree stipulates that owners of commercial buildings must install building automation and control systems.

Intended to facilitate the energy management of buildings, these installations must meet many challenges, including :

  • Obtaining a reliable energy analysis of the energy consumption generated by the buildings through data collection, processing and analysis.
  • Managing the energy performance of your facilities by visualizing their consumption, identifying consumption drifts and malfunctions, and adjusting your energy contracts.
